Privacy Policy

• Your photos are never uploaded. They are processed on your own device and never sent to us or to anyone else.
• We do use analytics, with your permission. We use three analytics services that collect anonymous usage data, including session recordings of how people move through the site. None of them load unless you accept them.
• Recordings cannot see your photo. Those session recordings cannot capture your photo, because the tool draws it into a canvas element and neither recorder is able or configured to capture canvas content.
• No accounts. There is no account, so there is no profile of you to build, export, or delete.

When you upload a photo to a Propicz tool, the file is read by your browser and held in your device's memory. It is not transmitted to a server. There is no upload step, no processing queue, and no storage bucket, because there is no backend that receives images.

The background removal is performed by a machine learning model that your browser downloads once and then runs locally. Cropping, resizing, and background changes are done with the browser's own canvas. When you download your result, the file is generated on your device and saved directly by your browser.

A practical consequence you can verify yourself: once the page and the model have loaded, you can disconnect from the internet and the tool will keep working.

Because we never receive your photos, we cannot look at them, cannot share them, cannot lose them in a breach, and have no retention period to disclose.

We use third party analytics to understand how the site is used, which pages people find, and where the tools are confusing. This data is about how the site is used, not about who you are.

Depending on the service, this can include the pages you visit, the links and buttons you interact with, how far you scroll, your approximate location derived from your IP address (typically city or region level), your device type, screen size, browser, operating system, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.

• PostHog. Product analytics and session recordings. Data is processed on PostHog's United States infrastructure. We have configured it not to create individual person profiles for anonymous visitors.
• Microsoft Clarity. Session recordings and heatmaps, provided by Microsoft. Microsoft may use data collected through Clarity for its own purposes, including improving its products and services, as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
• Google Analytics. Aggregate traffic and audience reporting, provided by Google.
• Cloudflare. Hosts and serves this website. As part of delivering the site it processes connection data such as your IP address, and it provides security and abuse protection.

Two of the services above record sessions. A session recording is not a video of your screen. It is a reconstruction of the page and of your interactions with it, such as mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page changes, which is replayed later to show how the site was used.

Your uploaded photo and the edited preview are drawn into an HTML canvas element. Microsoft Clarity is not able to capture the contents of a canvas at all. PostHog is able to, but only if canvas capture is deliberately switched on in both the site code and the PostHog project settings, and we have it switched off in both places. In a recording, the area where your photo appears is blank.

The contents of form inputs, including the file picker, are masked before anything is transmitted. Masking happens in your browser, so the masked values are never sent.

PostHog is currently also configured to record browser console messages for the session. Propicz does not write photo data to the console.

These services set cookies and use your browser's local storage to recognise a returning browser and to group activity into sessions. They are not used to identify you personally, and we do not use them for advertising.

At the time of writing you may see cookies named _ga and _ga_K5HLF57YV7 (Google Analytics), a cookie and local storage entry beginning ph_ (PostHog), and cookies named _clck and _clsk (Microsoft Clarity).

None of this loads until you agree to it. On your first visit you are asked whether you want analytics, and until you accept, no analytics script is fetched, no request is made to any of these providers, and none of these cookies are set. If you decline, they stay off.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads so that scripts already running are removed, since a script that has been loaded cannot be unloaded any other way.

The analytics providers listed above are operated by companies based in the United States and may process data there and in other countries. If you are located outside the United States, your usage data may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws than your own.

• Block the analytics scripts. Most content blockers and privacy focused browsers block PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, and Google Analytics by default. If you do this, the tools continue to work normally, because they do not depend on analytics.
• Clear or block cookies. You can delete existing cookies and local storage for propicz.com, and block future ones, in your browser settings. Blocking third party or all cookies for this site does not affect the tools.
• Opt out of Google Analytics. Use the Google Analytics opt out browser add on, which Google publishes for major desktop browsers.
• Contact us. Because we do not operate accounts and the analytics data is not linked to a name or email address, we usually cannot locate data belonging to a specific individual. If you believe we hold information about you and you want it removed, write to us and we will do what we reasonably can, including asking the relevant provider.

Propicz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Since we do not collect names, email addresses, or account details from anyone, there is no sign up path through which a child could provide personal information to us.

If we add, remove, or reconfigure an analytics provider, or if we ever change how the tools handle your files, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Because the tools are free and require no account, we have no way to email you about changes, so please check back if this matters to you.
